G'day to you all.
Here's this weeks update on what's happening.
I hope all of you will be paying some attention to the results of the election tonight. I know you can't all vote, but it is important to be aware of some political matters (this can get you out of sticky situations like asking who our president is.... don't laugh, it was embarrassing.). I hope you can tune in. It should be interesting. Also pray for our leaders, whoever they are, that they would be given wisdom to do their jobs in a way that is honoring to Him. Always remember it is so important to pray for our leaders.
Well, on to what lies ahead:
Contest Winner
First off, I just want to congratulate our Summer Contest Winner: Michael Lindsay! Michael was able to track down the clues and find the answer to the riddles and clues. Well done! I'm very impressed.
Michael wins a pair of Cineplex Tickets!
I will post a new contest soon. Stay tuned.
Sr. High
This Friday we will be meeting here at 7 pm and heading to West Edmonton Mall (via school bus) to see if it is even possible to spend one million dollars in two hours! Do you think it sounds easy? You might be surprised ! We will be back in time for pickup at 10:30pm. Remember it's five dollars to help cover the bus cost. Bring friends, there's lots of room on the bus!
Double Event
We have a guest speaker named Lyndell Campbell, joining us next Friday, October 24th. She currently teaches in Brazil. Lyndell is here as part of a Mission focused weekend, and is coming to our church to specifically speak to you! Please join us as we have a casual evening with some food and drink. Hey if you are interested, I'd love for some people to bring some snacks/desert/baking etc. Let me know if you can! (Thanks again to The Matheson's for the popcorn at the Hayride! That was awesome!)
See you there! 7pm (This is geared for grades 7-12 and College and Career, but everyone is welcome to come!)
November
So I'm sure you've noticed our upcoming November event--> Mission Impossible 5: Chemical Interference, what is it you ask? Well, remember our regular game of Mission Impossible where your team needs to reproduce the molecule? Well, this time it's chemicals, and there's a twist....
The rules have changed. Be there.
Christmas Banquet
Also at the end of November is our Christmas Banquet. A group of you is already working day and night (literally) to hammer out a script. So far it looks awesome! If you are interested in being a part of the acting crew, talk to me at the next event.
Well, that's all for now!
See you in the next couple of weeks!
Justin
