Hey everyone. I hope everyone's having an awesome summer so far. It's July 19th, can you believe it? School starts in like, 5 weeks. Crazy hey? It feels like it just started. I guess it kinda did just start 3 weeks ago. I'm used to a longer summer since I graduated from high school. University students start summer holidays the end of April. So Justin's been done with school since then. Something to look forward to when you go to college/university/tech school. Justin' just started mowing our lawn. Our back yard is about 13 feet by 13 feet, and 9 of those feet is a cement pad for a patio. He should be done any minute now. I don't know what to talk about because it's summer, so I'll just ramble. Hey, we're having veggie shish-ka-bobs, baked potatoes and pork steaks for dinner. After that we're going to go get a yummy dessert somewhere and then we're going to go to Pirates of the Carribean. Oh, the lawn is done now. Not kidding. It's a small lawn. Hey, guess what? Yah, I'm gonna tell you. My mom and dad's 35th wedding anniversary is this Monday (July 24th) and we're getting them tickets to the Beach Boys concert! Cool hey? I didn't know the Beach Boys still performed. I remember as a young lass of 5, my gramma came to Hinton (that's where I was born) to babysit Brad and I so my mom and dad could go to the Big City (edmonton) to go to the beach boys concert. They brought us home the coolest stuff, we all got ball caps that had the mesh in the back, and that was way before half mesh hats made their comeback. Ah, good times in Hinton. Hey, don't tell them what they're getting for a gift.
Hey, not to dig for attention or anything, but speaking of me being born, it's my birthday on July 31st. If anyone wants to make a cake and sing happy birthday for me, I'm cool with that. My family and I are all going to Red Lobster. Yummy! My brother and I always get crab, and we always play with the big claw that comes with it. If you take the meat out just perfectly, you can maintain the claw's ability to open and close. It's a good big brother pincher. My mom once found a week old crab claw in one of our rooms. We never could hide them from her after that, she'd always find them. I think she sniffed them out.
Well, dinner is ready. I must go shish my bobs. Peace out.
Andrea

very interesting...
Why don't you write about something important instead of just silliness??? no......seriously
To answer the question posted by anonymous on August 2nd:
The blog's purpose, and I quote....
"Random thoughts from U-Turn leaders (us). Thoughts about life, ministry, God and students."
I would categorize this post under the "life" section.
It may be true that your post should be categorized under the "life" section of your random thoughts blog, Andrea...
however, the purpose of our lives, everthing we do, we should be doing it all for the glory of Our Father, God. I do not believe that telling everyone that, and I quote, "I(Andrea) must go shish my bobs" is bringing glory to God.
Check Out 1 Corinthians 10:31...or since you are too busy "shishing your bobs" I will just type it so you can read it in this comment.
"So whether you eat or drink or WHATEVER you do, do it all for the glory of God."
enough said.
To our Calgarian friend: I completly disagree.
I think that you are missing what that verse is saying. It says that even in the mundane things, like eating and drinking, we can glorify God. How cool!
-We can glorify God while cooking dinner (Yes! Even shish-ka-bobs!)
-We can glorify God while talking with another person (or lots of people on a blog). (fellowship)
-The topic of conversation does not have to be theological in order to glorify God.
-We can glorify God by being silly and having fun! (even when the jokes are cheezy!)
-We can glorify God by sharing our lives with others.
-In youth ministry, it is important that students get to know us better (quirkiness and all).
-The better our students can relate to us, the better we can get to know them, and the better we can minister to them. This all brings God glory.
There is nothing wrong with shish ka bobs, making them, cooking them, eating them, or telling people about them.
So if you have more questions about 1 Cor 10:31 or about glorifying God, please call me at (780) 458-3777 or send me an email. I would love to hear from you.
In His grip,
Justin
How did you know that I am a calgarian? I didn't tell you...
I looked at your IP address. What church do you go to in Calgary?
