Hi Leaders, Students, and Parents,
I have had a lot of people tell me that Saturday (June 5th) does not work for them for the service project. So instead we are moving it to Sunday June 6th. Here are the details:
The Billy Graham Association as part of the Rock the River Tour, encouraged all the youth to be part of a massive service project in and around the Edmonton area. We are going to do our service project in St. Albert.
We will be cleaning up garbage in the Woodlands area. This includes along Boudreau, along Sturgeon Road, and along Sir Winston Churchill.
We will begin right after church on Sunday (aim for 12:30 start time), and go in teams (each with an adult), walking throughout the area picking up garbage. Our approximate finish time will be around 3:45pm
Parents are welcome (and encouraged) to join us, but please let me know before June 3rd.
What I need: I need to know if you are participating, before June 3rd so we can register you, and get you a t-shirt if you don't already have one.
I also need a parent with a truck who would be willing to drive the bags to the dump with me. Please let me know if you are interested.
So please let me know if you are able to make one or both of these dates. If you can't make one of the dates, that is fine, but please let me know.
And if you have any questions, please let me know!
Friday JUNE 4th
Also, to celebrate all that God is doing, and to kick things off, Rock the River is putting on a BBQ/concert on Friday June 4th. The Speaker is the guest at YC this year, Simon Guillebaud. It will be held on June 4th at 6pm At Louise McKinney Park which is directly below the Shaw conference centre. The concert will be free and there will be a fundraiser BBQ to raise money for an international project in Burundi Africa. This night will also serve as registration for service projects.
*We will not be traveling to this event as a group.* Please carpool or arrange other transportation. Once there, you can call my cell phone to find out where I am (please email me for number). I am not familiar with the place, so I cannot recommend a good meeting point, but am definitely open to suggestions.
So please let me know if you are able to make one or both of these dates. If you can't make one of the dates, that is fine, but please let me know.
And if you have any questions, please let me know!
Thanks!
Justin
