What do YOU like to do?

Perhaps a better question is what interests you?

God loves to use our areas of interests to serve him. ! Corinthains 10:31 says “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God”. But what does that look like in every area of our life? Well, below are some great ministry opportunities that you can be a part of that take advantage of some of the skills, passions, and talents that God has given you. Talk to me, send me an email, or call me to get more information on any of these ministries. These are open for people of any age as well as students!

ART

Do you like to do art on the computer? Do you like to draw? How about playing around with image editing software?

If so, I would love to get your help on designing website promo stuff for the upcoming youth events (like the ones at www.svbc.ab.ca/youth)! Fireworks image editing software is supplied!

VIDEO

How about film? Are you interested in doing video skits or other type of promos? Not sure but you would like to learn? Perhaps you have some great ideas and would like to work with a group to make more youth promo videos?

If so, we are looking for people with a desire to be creative with video. I don’t have any super fancy software, but if you are interested we can get you headed in the right direction. We need your help to make promo videos for upcoming youth events (www.svbc.ab.ca/youth/media).

WRITING

Are you one of those students who gets awesome grades on your essays? Do you enjoy writing and being creative? Do you like the idea of encouraging others with your writing skills? Do you like to make people laugh?

If so, I would love to get your help with a few things! Everything from blogs, to scripts, to other letters – there are lots of areas that you could be used!

ACTING

I know a lot of you are interested in acting, so are you interested in making others laugh? Are you willing to be available (and have the time) to work with a group of others to video tape skits and youth promos? How about live stage stuff? Do you like directing others? We are always looking for some skilled people who are willing to take some risks and get in front of others.

MUSIC

Do you play an instrument? Can you sing? Can you sing while playing an instrument? Can you juggle, sing, and ride a unicycle while playing an instrument? Just kidding, but if you have some musical talent, and would like to develop that talent further, worship God through music, as well as learning to lead others into a time of worship?

If so, we would love to work with you to get you to a place where we could have a youth worship team. Singing lessons form Justin are not included.

PRAYER

Do you love talking to God in prayer?

If so, we would love to have you praying about some things. We know that God uses prayer to accomplish his work. Let us know if you are interested. http://www.svbc.ab.ca/youth/prayer/

MONEY

Are you good with your coins? I don’t mean like this: http://bit.ly/sickcoins. But are you good at managing money, counting, collecting,, book keeping etc.

If so, I can use your help! The youth petty cash needs someone responsible to keep tabs on it. Let me know if this interests you!

RECORD KEEPER

Do you fold your socks and underwear? Is your room at home perfectly organized? Is your locker at school set up in such a way that you know where everything is all the time?

If so, you seem like type of person we need to manage an attendance list at youth events. Let me know if you are interested!

CHATTER BOX

Do you like to talk to others? Are you less shy than your friends? Do you find making conversation somewhat easy with others? Do you like to make others feel good?

If so, we are always looking for caring, personal, and intentional people to connect with new students. Ask me for more information on what this looks like.

NONE OF THOSE!

None of those interest you? Well, what do you like? What has God placed on your heart as a passion? Is it a social justice cause? How about a hidden talent (like unicycling , juggling and singing at the same time, while playing an instrument)? What about video games, board games or movies? How about music? Books?

And most importantly, are you wondering “What can I do with these passions to be able to use them for God and His glory?”
